Misawa is an active joint use airfield with Japanese 301 Hikotai (frog) and 302 Hikotai (eagle) with F-35A’s , the Northern HQ Support Flight with T-4, 601 Hikotai with E-2D Hawkeye and the Air Rescue Wing with CH-47J. The United States Air Force has based the 35th FW with 13th FS (red) and 14th FS (yellow) F-16CM/DM. Lastly the United States Navy has a base flight with a C-12 and rotational squadrons and detachments of P-8A Poseidon and EA-18G Growler aircraft on six-month deployments.
